Word of the day – Long
Started the morning at Emerald North School and headed out onto tar roads for about 100km with QueenBee and FiBee dancing in the front while NewBee got some well earned rest oblivious to the doof doof music blaring through the speakers.
Filled up at petrol station and acquired some greasy devil wings only to be told by an experienced Basher at the 3rd last bite not to eat roadhouse chicken!
Stopped at a cocktail party stop with Bash Busters serving their usual special concoctions to those not driving at the 170km mark. Still waiting to see that elusive “caravan of cassowarys”! Stopped at a homestead for lunch then Sonya scored a chopper ride all the way to Charters Towers for the afternoon while Sue the chopper pilot (our honorary Wannabee) came into our car and we hit the road. Sue asked if NewBee did any rally driving. Lol. Hit the afternoon run only to overheat so the Mobile Workshop stopped and worked on the car to get us back on the road. Bee-ast behived herself and we travelled whilst admiring the most amazing sunset.
Long day with The Bashful Bees (sans QueenBee) arriving in Charters Towers at the 7:30pm mark. Fun night in the bar watching some touring muso’s at the Crown Hotel where we were staying.
