Day 2 — Nyngen – Wanaaring – Tibooburra

No coverage, so no blog for 2 days
Day 2 started off with Bow tripping over her sleeping bag going to the loo and falling straight on both her bad knees then got a leg cramp making the biggest thud and woke both Nell and I up – even though we were concerned for Bows well being, we laughed for about 2 mins straight after we knew she was ok. That thud is still making us laugh! We quickly dressed in our triple 000 outfits (Doctor Clarke in scrubs, Westpac helicopter servicewoman and Polair Princess) packed up our sleeping bags and double mattress (mind you in a single room) and headed to breakfast. Apart from the seat belt on front passenger side not working we managed to start without a hitch. We hit Cobar and got a case of beer for Les who helped us with staying in Nyngan for the night. Cheers Les!! Even though some Cobar local with a plait in his beer was hoping that we would forget it by the car as he was lurking around the bee car! He’s only human after all! Mandy was driving out of Cobar and avoided a dead roo on the left, swerved and just avoided an oncoming Beamer – oops!
Onto Louth where the majority of bashers pulled over as we all smelt the whiff of lager at the local establishment 😉 The Bees were very good and had just a midi (wee tipple) to celebrate our journey on the dirt at Day 2! Good thing about the pub was both Scooby and Shaggy both had to do push-ups – hehehe! They got each other -Scooby tried to get Mandy again but to no avail !
Latest roadkill from Day 2 up to 1pm – 13 Roos, 1 emu, 2 rabbits and 3 randoms!! Special mention to poor Eric Echidna who rolled under the borrowed bee-ast yesterday – pout 😦
Eric RIP! Bow is currently driving in the dirt doing about 90-100 Kms – going extremely well with Nell navigating! They are a well oiled machine and Mandy taught them everything they know! The bash etiquette juices (eww) are flowing in Car 97 let me tell you!!
Sun setting again producing the most amazing sunset heading towards Tibooburra. Street party tonight in town and I’ve been in the back enjoying a few quiet ones while Janelle and Bow battling the setting sun as they combat grids and causeways. Ahh the serenity! Didn’t go to any bash stops as we only have standard lights and we are not putting 2 tents up in the dark. Onwards to the camp site! Time for another quiet ale and checkpoint in the distance … Dont mind if I do! Righto I’m off Mr McDonald’s Man.
